Flying to London wasnt as bad as I thought. We departed from Chicago at about 9:15 pm, just barely missing the crazy snow storm that was about to go through. United fed us some nasty beef entree, but I ate it anyways because I was starving. I watched some TV shows and then attempted to try and sleep. Im not sure if I actually got any sleep, but I tried and its the effort that counts.
After landing our group did a lot of mundane things like go through customs, get our bags, exchange currency etc. etc. Then off to our LOVELY flats in Kensington :) Im living in a room with 2 other girls, we are right next door to a room of 3 more girls, and the 6 of us share a living room, kitchen and bathroom. We have no hot water as of now, the power isnt working in the kitchen at all so we cant buy groceries yet AND our window is cracked so all the cold, London air is blowing in.... BUT nevertheless it is cute and quaint.
The group went to a few pubs tonight and it was so fun to see how different they all are. Tomorrow we have a 1/2 day of sightseeing then we are on our own to explore! Monday is academic orientation and probably more sightseeing. My goal for tomorrow is to have some tea and crumpets, London style. Oh, and meet the Queen! Miss you all!
