Take a look around! My favorite section is The Ash Tray, where our advertising manager Ash writes a weekly blog about celebrity gossip and new collections coming out in the jewellery industry.
In other news, Russia has dumped about 6 inches of snow onto London, therefore causing the tubes, the trains and the buses to cease all functions. I stood at the train station for about an hour this morning, only to see 2 trains come by and collect a sum of about 3 people. Lauren and I went upstairs, called into work and realized that nobody is going to work anyways.
I hope this clears up soon because tomorrow I am suppose to get on a train to Birmingham to help out my coworkers who are currently there for Spring Fair. This is a huge exhibition for all types of jewellers to show off their new collections and do some press. Im praying that I get to go, but if not, Im sure I will have other opportunities.
I'm sure at this point you are all wondering, "Madeline, what on earth did you do this weekend?" Well, you curious creatures will be happy to know I took a 2 day tour of the lovely Isle of Wight. It is directly south of the UK and took about an hour and a half drive plus an hour ferry ride to get there.
Once our group there, we went to take a tour of the Osbourne House, which was the vacation home for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. After a few hours there, we went to Godshill, a small cottage style town. We shopped around, ate a full lunch and then headed to Sandown, where our Bed & Breakfast was. We dropped off our luggage and explored the city for the rest of the night. The beach was close, alone with a pier and a huge "fun" center. After a cheap game of mini-golf, my childish instinct told me to spend 50p trying to win a Kit-Kat bar through some sketchy arcade game. Alas, I did not win, so Lauren, Hayley and I found a pub to drink our sorrows away. I had the most amazing salmon, potatoes, veggies and wine a girl could ask for. We sat for about 2 hours and then Lauren and I split a dessert called "Bombed by Chocolate." Oh yes, we like to live large. Chocolate ice cream + chocolate fudge + chocolate filling + other chocolate things = heaven in a pub.
After the biggest English breakfast of my life (beans, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, french toast, hash browns, coffee), Sunday was filled with lots of sight seeing, such as visiting the Isle of Wight Pearl shop, which was huge and immaculate for any woman who loves pearls. Pink pearls, white pearls, blue pearls, brown pearls, etc. Anything you could image, they had. I desperately wanted to buy a pearl ring that was only about $30, but I had left my purse in the bus which was locked. I took that as a sign that the ring was not meant for my fingers. *sigh*

Until, next time... CHEERS! Im off to enjoy the snow covered city :)
